Hudson’s fire chief Peter Milot ignited a firestorm Monday when he quit his long-standing job over political differences with the town’s mayor and council. Milot, who has been chief for the past 27 years, much of which he balanced, before retiring, with a full time teaching job at Mount Pleasant school, held a press conference Monday.
In a statement released earlier the same day, Milot cited "irrevocable differences between the fire department’s officers and the Council in establishing priorities affecting the overall level of safety for Hudson residents and businesses and the safe provision of fire department services."
We will have further coverage on this story in Saturday’s Première Édition newspaper.
