Westwood Jr. High’s principal says the school will be ready to accommodate 120 grades 5 and 6 students from Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School next year.
The St. Lazare junior high, home to grades 7 and 8 students, will accommodate an overflow from PETES in Vaudreuil-Dorion beginning next September.
Principal Hans Bulow said administrators from PETES recently visited the school, while he will also meet with PETES parents to answer questions or address any concerns.
A date for the meeting has not been set.
Though many details of the transfer still need to be worked out, Bulow said he also wants to ensure that Westwood students do not lose services or activities because of the overflow.
Overcrowding at Vaudreuil-Soulanges schools with the Lester B. Pearson School Board is expected to ease if the board can begin construction on a long awaited new English elementary school.
