Eggs and airplanes a flying success in St. Lazare
Close to 600 people got up close and personal on Sunday with airplanes from all over Quebec and Ontario when a St. Lazare airport hosted its annual Fly-In Breakfast.
The traditional event that brings together small aircraft owners with often curious spectators has been hosted for more than 20 years at Cooper Aviation, in St. Lazare.
Airport owner Jack Brown said the day “was really perfect.”
A total of 580 breakfasts were served - 492 to adults and another 82 to children – allowing the St. Lazare Flying Club to raise a little more than $4,000.
Brown says the club’s 75 member funnel a portion of the funds back into airport improvements.
People ate in the airport’s hangar or under a large tent and were then allowed to stroll the grassy complex and “look but not touch” the aircrafts.
Highlights of the day included a visit by a Transport Canada Twin Otter airplane, as well as one from a Steerman vintage aircraft.
